Happy Easter Y’all (And Easter Goodness for everybody)

Apr 24 2011 Published by under A Day in the Life

If you lived in my building, you’d get the following bits of Easter Goodness delivered to your doorstep today.

Happy Easter

When I lived in Bombay, there was a really nice tradition that went around the Apartment colony we lived in, where friendly neighbors would hand out bits of goodness pertaining to their religious festivals. The Hindu neighbours would shower us with Indian sweets for Diwali, the Muslim neighbours would give us giant bowls full of Biriyani (which were DELICIOUS I might add), and the Christian neighbours would hand out fruitcake and pies for Christmas, and Chocolate and Marzapan eggs for Easter.

I was talking to an old friend from Bombay the other day, who said this tradition still happens in her colony, where neighbours have known each other for years and years.

Unfortunately though, in Delhi’s “Rent an apartment for a year” society, neighbours dont really get to know each other. Not to mention people are probably more suspicious of each other here, than anywhere else in the world (with good reason too).So something like this can be quite… foreign to some folks here.

So I figured, why not start a tradition while i can afford to live in this apartment, by handing out trays of Easter Goodness to my neighbours this morning. The reactions I got were quite fun to be honest.

My next door neighbour met me with intense suspicion, grabbing the tray, emptying it in his kitchen and returning it back only with a couple grunts, while I tried desperately to explain to him in terrible Hindi that today’s Easter and I’m spreading ‘Easter Goodness‘ around, while noticing his wife stealthily peeking out from a room across the hall.

Yeah, my next door neighbours frighten me immensely. Whenever I open my balcony door, they open theirs, and its the same situation with my front door. HOW ARE THEY DOING THIS!

My neighbour downstairs was all smiles and joy, since he just became a Father yesterday, and was about to rush back to the Hospital after making sure things at home were duly prepared. Nice fella, my downstairs neighbours.

My neighbour on second floor wasnt at home, so no goodies for him (atleast until its evening time and it gets less hot, I dont warn those chocolate eggs melting).

My landlord is possibly the nicest person I’ve met in Delhi so far, and he was so suprised by all of this that he invited me in for dinner with his family.

So yes, some very fun reactions all around. How was your Easter?

NaVloPoMo Day Two – Most uninteresting video evah?

Nov 02 2010 Published by under A Day in the Life, Videos

Possibly the most uninteresting video I’ve ever made. While trying to be interesting, heh.

My trip to Japan looks bleak. The Japanese embassy is asking me for way too many documents, and my boss is taking way too long to give them to me. How will it turn out? Stay tuned true believers.

And we’re off

Nov 01 2010 Published by under A Day in the Life, Videos

Just incase you havent heard, November is National (uhh.. or International?) Blog/Vlog Post Month. Or NaBloPoMo/NaVloPoMo for short. Basically, you have to upload a new video every day, for the entire month of November, which sounded about fun to me, hence my first attempt below. Behold, an Indian Market, as Diwali approaches:

Now why should you stay tuned to this series? Well, because I might be headed off to Japan next week, along with some bit of traveling around India, if everything works out. That might make for a very interesting November, apart from my Birthday this 28th.

Anywho, let me know whatchy’all think :) Why not get into the NaVloPomo mood yourself, eh?

Bombay Vacation Y’all

Oct 11 2010 Published by under A Day in the Life, Travels of the Cj

So I’ll be heading to Bombay tomorrow. After 11 months straight in Delhi, I needed a vacay y’all lol. Nokia is flying me in for the Nokia N8 launch, so i figured I should spend a little time meeting my family and friends while I’m there.

I’ve been missing my family a lot lately. I dont really know anyone here in Delhi. Apart from the casual friends I’ve met and come to know over the few months I’ve been here. But there’s nothing that can beat family, right?

I intend to turn back into Tourist Cj (Gosh I miss that guy) and run around Bombay/Mumbai and take pictures of everything possible. When I’m not doing that, I’m going to try and spend as much time as I can with my old-friends and family from the Bollywood city.

So who’d up for some Vada Pavs in Mumbai tomorrow, eh? :D

Clinton Jeff: In the Media

Sep 03 2010 Published by under A Day in the Life

Wow, just wow. It just hit me. In one month I’ve been on National TV (Multiple times at it), Print Magazine, the Newspaper, and Interviewed online. Granted one of those was just literally my name, but hey, it counts lol.

What is happening?

I’ve always been a celebrity, but that was only in my head :P

Teh Cj‘s getting around y’all.

I give it 6 months before I’m Lady Gaga famous and/or join the Black Eyed Peas.

Then comes WORLD DOMINATION NYAHAHAHAHAHA :[

*Cough*

But seriously, I’m so majorly thankful lol. For every bit of crap I get in my life, I get something equally good or even better that happens to me. All this optimism pays off, eh? :)

Clinton Jeff: Media whore lol.

Scars

Sep 01 2010 Published by under A Day in the Life

I’ve always prided myself on the strict moral guidelines I follow. It’s a bit messed up I’d admit, but i’ve always been very clear on what is right, and what is wrong.

Now, due to these severely messed up moral views, I’m a very helpful, unselfish and chivalrous person, even when I don’t want to be. This makes me a very easy target for when someone needs a sucker to do some dirty work.

And I’ve had to deal with that, more times than I can remember.

Which is why it always breaks me, when someone I’ve helped, stood by and supported so many times, on so many things, goes and rips my heart out.

I have major trust issues with people as it is. It takes a lot for me to open up completely to someone. Let my defenses down, so to speak. Then these things come along and leave such a giant scar.

But hey, the good thing about Scars, is that they’re always there to remind you. Not to make the same stupid freakkin mistake again.
